Hokie Soccer Academy Philosophy

The Hokie Soccer Academy focuses on the development of players as individuals within the framework of the team. Our staff believes that a complete soccer player must develop skills both on and off the field. To become successful in soccer, a player must also be successful in life. Our soccer instruction is anchored in this idea and focuses on the following seven skills:

1. CONCENTRATION / FOCUS The best learning takes place when players can focus on a clearly stated set of expectations.		2. HARD WORK / DEDICATION There will never be a substitue for hard work.
3. TEAM WORK No player can do it alone.
		4. SPORTSMANSHIP Win or lose: Players have to respect the GAME over everything else.
5. FUN Players have to enjoy themselves.
