1) Basic Arrival and Departure Procedure for Camp
ARRIVAL on first day of camp:
Check-in at dormitory: 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
First camp meeting: 2:30 PM
First field session: 3:00 PM
First meal in camp: Dinner
DEPARTURE on last day of camp:
Last field session/games: 8:00-9:45 AM
Skills championships: 10:00-10:30 AM
Closing ceremonies: 10:30-11:00 AM
Check-out at dormitory: 11:00-noon
Last meal in camp: Breakfast
2) Commuter (Day Campers) Information
The drop off and pick up schedule for all commuter campers (day campers) is as follows:
- 8:15 AM—Drop off at dormitory for 8:30 meeting
8:15 PM—Pick up at VT soccer stadium after final camp meeting. Parents may have to pick up at dormitory in case of inclement weather.
- There will be a COMMUTER ROOM in the dormitory where campers can store their belongings during the day and rest.
- Lunch and dinner are provided during the camp.
3) Room Key and Deposit
Each residential camper will receive his own room key. We will provide a lanyard with it. During check-in a $50 key deposit is required (check or cash). The deposit will be returned when the key is turned in during check-out.
4) What to bring to camp?
Here is a list of essentials for a successful camp experience:
Plenty of soccer clothes and socks, cleats, clean indoor shoes, sandals, shin guards, bed linens, pillow, blanket, fan.
5) Parking at Virginia Tech
Between Monday and Friday, visitors are required to display a "Visitor's Parking Pass" in their cars. The Visitor's Center at the Southgate entrance has them. Stop for 1 minute and secure the pass. On weekends, visitors don't need a pass.
6) Attending Sessions & Games
Parents are welcome to watch any sessions and evening games at the Academy. Evening games start around 6:30 PM every night.
