Welcome to the Hokie Soccer Academy
A Message from the Academy Director
Welcome to the Hokie Soccer Academy. I am excited about sharing
our passion and knowledge of soccer with anyone who wants to learn,
excel, and enjoy the greatest game of all. Come and join us this
summer for great training and competition at Virginia Tech.
What you will find is that there are no secrets for becoming a
great player. The only way to get better is through hard work and
quality instruction. In short, YOU are the key to your development
and success on the field. We will do our very best to show you ways
to get the very best performance out of YOU.
The Hokie Soccer Academy began in 2002 at Virginia Tech. Since
that time, the number of players participating in Academy summer
soccer camps has more than doubled. Many of our youth soccer players
return year after year because of the quality instruction and great
experiences they have.
The Mission of Hokie Soccer Academy
Our mission at the Hokie Soccer Academy is to provide serious
youth soccer players with an opportunity to develop their skills
and knowledge of the game through quality instruction and personal
attention. These are the same conditions that make our Virginia
Tech college soccer program successful. We strive to provide:
- Outstanding soccer coaching and instruction
- Positive learning environment
- Challenging but achievable curriculum
- Frequent and constructive evaluation of player skill
- Structure and guidance for learning the game
 Why
Hokie Soccer Academy is Different
Campers and parents will find:
- All of our Virginia Tech coaching staff is present
at each of the sessions.
- Our coaching staff fosters a drive for excellence both
on and off the field.
- We reward players who can demonstrate excellence.
- Our activities create an atmosphere of fun and excitement.
- Our staff supervises all activities, from walking to
the fields to monitoring life in the residence halls 24 hours
a day.
- Our counselors and coaches enforce the rules strictly
to provide the best soccer instruction possible.

College Recruiting 101
We use our Hokie Soccer Academy camps to actively look
for potential student-athletes for the Virginia Tech program.
Our coaches and staff will provide information about the
recruiting process for all soccer players who are interested
in playing NCAA college soccer at Division I, II, III, or
NAIA levels. We counsel players all week long on an individual
basis and during our College Recruiting Night.
In closing, I would like to encourage every youth soccer
player who has dreams and ambitions of becoming a better
player to attend one of our Academies. We feel that the
Hokie Soccer Academy provides an excellent environment for
players to learn, grow, and advance in the game of soccer.
